Step-by-Step Guide to Cleaning Pump Parts on the Go

Cleaning your pump parts on the go doesn't have to be complicated. Here's a simple step-by-step process using the Travel Cleaning Duo:

First, after pumping, disassemble your pump parts according to the manufacturer's instructions. For Willow pumps, this means removing the milk collection containers and any inserts. Shake off any excess milk into a bottle or discard it if you won't be using it.

Next, take a cleaning wipe from the Travel Cleaning Duo and thoroughly wipe down all surfaces of the pump parts, paying special attention to crevices where milk can accumulate. Use the portable brush to gently scrub any stubborn residue. The brush's bristles are designed to reach tight spots without scratching the plastic.

After wiping and brushing, allow the parts to air dry completely before reassembling. You can lay them on a clean, dry cloth or paper towel. Once dry, your pump parts are ready for the next use. Remember, it's important to clean your pump parts after every use to maintain hygiene.

• Always use a fresh wipe for each cleaning session to avoid cross-contamination
• If you have access to a sink, rinse parts first to remove milk residue
• Store the Travel Cleaning Duo in a resealable bag to keep wipes from drying out

Tips for Maintaining Hygiene While Traveling

When you're away from home, maintaining proper hygiene for your pump parts is crucial. Here are some additional tips to ensure your baby's milk stays safe:

Always wash your hands before handling pump parts or expressing milk. Use hand sanitizer if soap and water aren't available. Also, consider using a dedicated storage bag for clean pump parts to keep them separate from dirty ones.

If you're traveling for an extended period, you might want to carry a backup set of pump parts. Willow offers a Willow 360® Replacement Parts Set that can be a lifesaver when you can't clean immediately. Having a spare set means you can rotate parts and clean them thoroughly when you have access to a sink.

For overnight trips, consider using the Glass Breast Milk Pitcher Duo to store expressed milk safely in the fridge. These pitchers are easy to clean and can be reused, reducing waste while traveling.

• Pack a small bottle of dish soap and a travel-sized brush for a more thorough clean when possible
• Use the Dapple® Baby Pump Cleaning Kit for a deep clean when you return home
• Label your cleaning wipes and brush to avoid mix-ups with other family members' items
